Gear couplings, also known as curved tooth couplings, transmit torque and accommodate some misalignment through their gear teeth. The gear couplings are ideal for demanding applications.
Gear couplings, also known as curved tooth couplings, consist of a hub and a casing. Each hub has gear teeth cut around the outside diameter, with the hub connecting to a casing with pairing gear teeth cut into the inner diameter. Gear couplings transmit torque and accommodate some misalignment through their gear teeth. The gear couplings are often used in applications with requirements of high torque and balance, and due to their high torque capacity they are ideal for demanding applications.

The gear coupling from BJ-Gear, The AXO gear coupling, is characterised by a compact design compared to its performance and is particularly good in small spaces and for transmission of very high torques. It is made entirely of steel and the teeth are arc-shaped permitting a misalignment of the shafts for max. 1.5°. The torque is from 358-12000 Nm, and they have a possible bore from 20-125 mm. The AXO couplings have a grease nipple for filling of grease, and they are very solid and easy to incorporate.
