JOSMAR Food Tech, a leading manufacturer of machinery for the food industry, produces equipment such as bin lifters and automatic horizontal frozen block crushers. Traditionally, this type of machinery has relied on hydraulic cylinders due to the high force requirements. However, hydraulic power units and cylinders are far from optimal in hygienic environments. That is why JOSMAR saw an ideal solution when BJ-Gear introduced them to our electric actuators.

Company profile
Founded in 1976, Talleres Josmar initially focused on the design and repair of fish processing machinery. During the mid-1980s, subsidiaries were established in Namibia (Walvis Bay) and Argentina (Puerto Madryn) to support clients’ fleets in those fishing grounds.
In 1998, INPROMAR was founded—specializing in the development of comprehensive solutions for the fish processing industry, both land-based and onboard fishing vessels.
Today, the Josmar Group employs nearly 100 professionals, all dedicated to supporting their clients with advanced machinery solutions.
Solution
The solution implemented was our BJ-Gear stainless steel electric actuators. The initial contact came through a sales representative, who presented the actuators to JOSMAR. They immediately recognized the quality and potential of the solution in addressing their most pressing challenges.
Since then, JOSMAR has embarked on a redesign of all their machinery that previously used hydraulic cylinders, replacing them with BJ-Gear electromechanical cylinders. Thanks to the modular design and straightforward integration, the transition has been smooth and efficient.
